The month of September is here. It always takes me by surprise because the weather still makes me feel that it is still summer.
The children are all back in school and settled into a routine. We have football and soccer games on the calendar. All the current magazines have wonderful fall recipes; apples are in abundance as well as pumpkin in the ingredients. We start thinking of tailgate refreshments, chilies and soups instead of salads and cold entrees.
September is a transitional month. Saying goodbye to summer and hello to autumn. Even though I have been here in Havelock for almost nine years, I still can not get into Autumn. The sun still shines bright; it is still pleasantly warm or stifling hot and humid. I still want to sit at the beach. No matter whether I hang onto summer or welcome autumn with open arms, I always have a book with me. Now is the time to treat yourself to some new arrivals at the library.
Relax and enjoy!
