Looking for something fun to do? Get out of the house, enjoy some fresh air, and promote literacy with your little ones at our StoryWalk® at the Havelock-Craven County Public Library!
- What is a StoryWalk®? It is a way for kids (and their grown-ups!) to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages of a deconstructed picture book are laminated and then posted on stakes along a trail.
- What's the Book? Into the Castle, by June Crebbin and John Bendall-Brunello is a children's book with appeal for all ages. Three children, a horse, and a dog walk towards an old castle. What's there? An old moat, a creaky drawbridge, twisting stairs...Enjoy the gentle building of the story all the way to the end!
- Where is the StoryWalk®? Story pages are posted against the outside of the Havelock Library building.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
