Find Books, Music, Movies and More!

Looking for something fun to do? Get out of the house, enjoy some fresh air, and promote literacy with your little ones at our StoryWalk® at the Havelock-Craven County Public Library!

  • What is a StoryWalk®? It is a way for kids (and their grown-ups!) to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages of a deconstructed picture book are laminated and then posted on stakes along a trail.
  • What's the Book?  Into the Castle, by June Crebbin and John Bendall-Brunello is a children's book with appeal for all ages. Three children, a horse, and a dog walk towards an old castle. What's there? An old moat, a creaky drawbridge, twisting stairs...Enjoy the gentle building of the story all the way to the end!
  • Where is the StoryWalk®? Story pages are posted against the outside of the Havelock Library building.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
